High Frequency Words

Picture
High Frequency words.  Snap Words.  Sight Words.

This year your child will be introduced to five units of study.  Within these units there will be many sight words.  Children will keep data notebooks to record the sight words that they know.  We all start with the kindergarten list and then move to Unit 1 words.  To see the words, please go to Reading --> High Frequency Words --> and pick the unit that you would like to start working on.   Many people think that flash cards are the only want to teach high frequency words.  This is not true.  There are many online resources and games that you can play with your child.  Please visit this excellent link to see how you can work on high frequency words at home.  The more high frequency words your child knows, the easier the reading process will be.
