We all made it through the first week of First Grade. It was exciting! We got to know each other more and more everyday and have developed some class routines, songs, and chants. I’m sure you’ll be hearing our line up chant at home. They love it!
This week we will continue to create our classroom community and will get to know each other a lot more. I have started off the week as the STAR and my All About Me Poster is on display in our classroom.
In Language Arts, we will continue to do whole group activities and will make a classroom book. I will share the reading standards with the kids this week. These grade 1 standards will be on display in our classroom throughout the year.
This week we will have mini lessons on:
§ Good Fit books
§ Shopping for books
§ How to read a book?
§ Independence during Reading Workshop
§ What is stamina?
§ Building stamina
In Math, we will practice:
