This Week in First Grade
On Friday, our class will walk to the Wilson Post Office. We will learn about our community members that work there and we’ll learn where our letters are going when we send them out.
Reminder: Please have your child bring in a paper towel roll. If you have extras we’d love to have them. Children are working on number scrolls and this will help protect their hard work.
Winter Sports: Will start January 11th. Please send in the Winter Sports for ASAP. Kim Hunt needs them this Thursday. Thanks
In Reading Workshop, we will continue focus on community. Children will create community helpers and they will be up on display at the end of the week. We will learn two new songs and will read, Life in the Forest? Book bags will be sent home four times this week. (Monday-Thursday). Please make sure the book bags are returned daily.
In Writing Workshop, we will finish up our Dear Santa letters. Our letters to Santa will be published in the Jackson Hole News/Guide on Wednesday, Dec. 23rd. Be sure to pick up a copy! The kids can’t wait to see their work in the paper! Some kids think that they are going to be famous! Thank you to all who have donated envelops and stamps. Students are having a wonderful time writing letters.
In Spelling, we will continue to do work with Words Their Way! Children will bring their sorts home on Friday. Review the words with them over the weekend.
