Good Morning! I have been participating in a mapping of our literacy curriculum and have been out of school the last two days. Today, I'm back in the classroom and I can't wait to see the kids. From our substitutes notes, it looks like things went very well. The children participated in WYOMING READS and each got a surprise book to take home.
End of the year tests: There are many assessments that are coming up. Map, Dibels, end of year math, writing and reading tests too. Please let me know if your child will not be in school from now until the last day of school. I will need this information to help schedule dates as well as make sure they have all the assessments complete before leaving.
MAP TESTING: Map testing will take place today, Wednesday. They will be taking a Math section and Reading section. Our last Map test will be on Tuesday, May 24th.
Dibles Testing: Dibles will be held during the week of the May 31st.
In Writing Workshop: We revisiting small moments. (Narrative) The children will be doing a writing prompt the week of the 31st and I thought that this would be a perfect review for them. Today we will share our published poems and the children will take them home to share with you.
In Reading Workshop: We will revisit some of our reading accuracy and fluency strategies. Children will work one on one with me and/or with a partner. I will also assess dolch high frequency words this week.
In Math, we will work on time. Children will work with analog as well as digital times. We will also practice money. Some parents have been playing "store" at home. This is a great game. You can put price tags on some items at home and the kids will have to pay you with money. They can even be the cashier and can giv
